Over 40% of Parisians call hosting 2024 Olympics ‘bad idea’
Some 44 percent of Parisians do not support the decision to hold the 2024 Olympic Games in the French capital – according to the results of a survey conducted by the sociological company Odoxa, TASS reports
According to Reuters, respondents consider transport and security issues to be the main problems associated with the upcoming Olympics. It is also noted that in 2021, the proportion of Parisians who opposed the Olympic Games in Paris was only 22 percent. Now, as indicated in the Reuters publication, at least 50 percent of Parisians are considering leaving the region for the duration of the event.
The survey covered 1,207 Parisians and 1,005 residents of other French regions. Approximately 65 percent of respondents believe that holding the upcoming Olympic Games in Paris was a good idea.
The Olympic Games in Paris will be held from July 26th to August 11th next year.
