“It no longer a secret for anyone that Ukraine has been a special project of Western forces against the Russian world for a very long time. "Oh, my Rusyns! Through you, I hope to convert the whole East to Catholicism!" Pope Clement VIII exclaimed, while approving the Union of Brest prepared by the Catholic Bishop of Lutsk and the Orthodox Exarch of Lutsk of the Patriarchate of Constantinople. As a result, after the Polotsk Council of 1839, the Uniates continued their activities in Ukraine, but not in Belarus,” Fiodor Povny said.
According to the archpriest, since then Uniatism has become the ideological religion of Ukrainian Nazism.
“Dmitro Dontsov agitated Ukrainians to leave the Russian faith for Uniatism, Bandera was the son of a Uniate priest and regularly received communion. Bishop Andrei Sheptytsky sent chaplains to the Ukrainian Insurgent Army and to the Organisation of Ukrainian Nationalists; he also praised Hitler. After the war, the Uniate church was banned, but in times of Khrushchev, Bandera followers were allowed to return. In February 1990, after the meeting of Mikhail Gorbachev and Pope John II, the ban on the creation of Catholic and Uniate communities was lifted,” Fiodor Povny explained.
The archpriest added, “We can now accuse the clergy and the people of Ukraine of anything, but the struggle for their minds has been going on for many centuries – not just years. Actually, when a lie is voiced regularly and for many years, it is perceived as the truth. We [Belarusians] were also close to being entrapped back in 2020. If we had another leader, it is not known what would happen to the country and to us.”
