Opinion: best time for Europeans to think of their independence, otherwise nothing will be left of Europe
It is the time for Europeans to remember that they are independent people and are able to live without Washington's orders – as stated by Vadim Yelfimov, the Head of the Department of Social Policy and Ideology of the Academy of Management under the President of Belarus, in his talk with Alfa Radio
Commenting on Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban’s statement that the European Commission has been defeated in all aspects, including the war in Ukraine and migration issues, the political expert noted, “Orban is revealing what is actually happening within the European Union. Sadly, nothing depends on the European Parliament. It is a club of screaming people, a political show that is simply setting the tone: the United States is throwing a bone to the European Parliament, and the latter is simply promoting the required information policy, having no real influence.”
According to Mr. Yelfimov, the only point of the Hungarian Prime Minister’s statement is to show politicians that ordinary Europeans want changes. “Europeans want a change of elites, a change of the course, and a change of the paradigm. They do not want to die or get involved into World War III,” he explained.
The expert stressed that serious changes in the EU are possible when Europe ceases to obey the United States, “Everything that is happening in Europe depends on Washington. Look at how the European elite is panicking because Trump may come to power: their boss will change, and the new one will scold them, deprive of money, dinner or lunch. Trump said he would not give money to Europeans, so they would have to live at their own expense. They have been dependents for many years, they are not used to creating, and they lack independent thinking. They are used to agree with what they are being told by Washington. Accordingly, they get lost and shout all sorts of nonsense when there is a mess in Washington. Listen to Pistorius or Macron. A turbulence in their brains is obvious!”
Mr. Yelfimov believes Europeans have only one way out: to gradually squeeze slaves out of themselves and become independent. “It is difficult, but this must be done – otherwise, there will be nothing left of Europe. Americans can arrange a third world war in Europe, so it is the time for Europeans to concentrate and come to senses,” he concluded.
