Gaidukevich: there's only one way out for Germany

The German economy is in a crisis, and there’s a schism among the ruling coalition. But a way out is still there, said Oleg Gaidukevich, the Deputy Chairman of the Standing Committee on International Affairs of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly, talking to Alfa Radio.

“After the Nord Stream pipelines had been blown up, events started unfolding just as experts cautioned they would. The EU economy in general and the German economy in particular are declining: cheap resources had stopped flowing from Russia to East Germany, and the ‘Green agenda’ is being pushed on them by the US. Wars started by the US and supported by Berlin keep fuelling the migration crisis. German businesses are suffering while Chancellor Scholz is trying to placate the public with some feel-good stories,” said the expert.

According to the MP, however, the German economy is in a crisis, and there’s a schism among the ruling coalition, with member parties’ ratings dropping sharply. The Green Party is the worst off, losing virtually their entire voter base in the former East Germany. At the same time, Alternative for Germany is being deliberately kept out of the halls of power.

“The crisis is getting worse, and the German experts are already talking about the possible schism among Scholz’ coalition. Using popular discontent as a pretext, new political forces like the Social Democratic Party are fighting their way to the top,” Mr. Gaidukevich said.

He believes there’s only one way out for Berlin: pull out of the war, make peace in Europe, force the Ukrainian leadership to the negotiating table, restore relations with Russia, investigate the Nord Stream sabotage, and get the cheap gas flowing again.

“That would make Germany independent from American policies, and allow Europe to flourish again,” he added.
