National Bank published statistics on Belarus’ international reserve assets
As of January 1st, 2024, our country’s gold and foreign currency reserves, according to preliminary data, stood at $8.127bn – as reported on the National Bank’s website
Foreign currency reserves fell by 1.55 percent in December 2023 after increasing by 1.3 percent in November.
Foreign currency and gold reserves account for the largest share in the structure of Belarus’ international reserve assets. According to the National Bank, as of January 1st, 2024, foreign currency reserves totalled $3.157bn – $199m down from December level. Monetary gold stocks made up $3.582bn, having increased by $57.7m over the same period.
According to the main guidelines of the monetary policy, our country’s international reserve assets should total about $6bn by late 2024.
