National Bank: in January-May 2024, Belarus’ foreign trade in goods and services 3.6% up to reach $39.5bn
In January-May of this year, Belarus’ foreign trade in goods and services grew by 3.6 percent compared to the same period last year and reached $39.5bn, sb.by reports with reference to the National Bank’s website
According to the National Bank, in May, the increase in exports of goods exceeded the growth in imports, as a result of which the negative balance of foreign trade in goods decreased by $129m over the month. In general, in January-May 2024, the balance amounted to minus $1.7bn, with exports of goods totalling $16bn and imports standing at $17.7bn.
The negative balance of foreign trade in goods was offset to a large extent by positive results of foreign trade in services: its balance stood at $1.2bn in January-May. Over the five months of 2024, exports of services reached $3.5bn while imports made up $2.3bn.
