MZKT ready to expand Gazprom co-operation

Minsk Wheel Tractor Plant (MZKT) and Gazprom discussed prospective Belarusian-made equipment supplies for the Russian gas industry, MZKT press centre reported after the mission from the gas giant had concluded its visit to the company

“In order to keep strengthening the partnership between Belarusian and Russian machine building and fuel industries, a mission from Gazprom PJSC, led by Deputy Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee Vitaly Markelov and accompanied by Viachaslau Rassalai, Deputy Minister of State Authority for Military Industry (SAMI) of the Republic of Belarus, visited MZKT on November 15th. Gazprom representatives inspected our production capacities, including our vehicle assembly and test facility. Special-purpose vehicles that can be used in the gas industry were of particular interest for them,” informed the press service, adding that the visit included negotiations between Gazprom representatives and MZKT management where the Belarusian party expressed their readiness to expand their partnership with the Russian gas giant.

“The Gazprom mission to MZKT was an important step in developing our partnership and a proof of their interest in expanding their ties to Belarusian companies,” emphasised the MZKT representative.

For 70 years, Minsk Wheel Tractor Plant (MZKT) has been developing and producing unique transport solutions geared towards carrying heavy loads both on and off-road. MZKT is capable of designing bespoke vehicles in series of one to hundreds of units, using the broadest possible range of parts. The company’s total workforce is over 4,000. MZKT has 10 production facilities, 3 service workshops, 25 functional units and 10 departments. The Neman automotive company was absorbed by MZKT in 2015.
