Nigeria launched domestic UAV line

ZBC TV channel informed that Nigeria had launched production of its own domestically made recon and attack UAVs, TASS reports

The range includes the AYBARS-II surveillance drone with 3.9 metres wingspan and an ability to stay airborne for 7-8 hours. The system’s maximum takeoff weight is 35 kilogrammes; it’s capable of flying at up to 80 kilometres per hour.

Another similar drone, SZK-290, with maximum takeoff weight of 15 kilogrammes, can stay in the air for up to 8 hours. Patroller-20 and MIKIYA-20 models weight 5-6 kilogrammes each and can fly uninterrupted for up to 3 hours.

The ADAN 70 attack drone, on the other hand, carries six 60 millimetres mortars for striking ground targets. Its can stay airborne for up to 30 minutes.

All UAVs have reportedly been designed for operation in the semi-desert and desert conditions of the northern Nigeria, where the country’s armed forces are fighting terrorist groups.
