MP on elections in Belarus: they will be much more dangerous in 2030 and 2040

According to the MP, no one supports the radical opposition. “We should not discredit the word ‘opposition’. The opposition is an alternative view, and such understanding is welcome. We have four parties, and each has its own opinion. If the party is not ruling, it is the opposition. Those we are talking about are radicals, traitors, and no one supports them. How will the elections be held? There will be attempts at destabilisation, including radical ones. There will be information provocations. We have cleaned our space, so everything will written there: in Poland and Lithuania. There will be attempts of terrorist attacks and extremism – such as, for example, attempts to kill a deputy candidate. They have no other methods. They are well aware that it’s impossible to shake Belarus and Russia in any other way, so they will place a stake at this. Nevertheless, I am convinced that 2024-2025 will be quiet, we will cope. Moreover, there will be a great turnout at the elections, there will be competition, and we already see it. I have no doubts that the best of the best will be elected, because these people will determine the fate of the country for the coming five years,” Mr. Gaidukevich explained in his talk with the SB TV YouTube channel.
The expert added that the upcoming elections will not be the most dangerous for Belarus. “Elections in 2030-2035, 2040 are much more dangerous for our country and Russia. I am a politician, I need to look forward. There will be a change of elites in all directions. Young leaders will come, and it is very important who will come. Therefore, let no one dream about 2024-2025. There will be attempts [at destabilisation], but we will calmly hold the situation and move on. We have already proved over the years, since 2020, since the beginning of the special military operation in Russia, when there were attempts to commit terrorist attacks here, that we can control the situation. Moreover, we do not stay idle, but act proactively in our work,” Mr. Gaidukevich summed up.
