Minsk hosting International Forum for Economic Co-operation
The National Library in Minsk is hosting the International Forum for Economic Co-operation, bringing together over 100 foreign delegations from Turkey, Uzbekistan, Palestine, Pakistan, Moldova, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Kazakhstan, China, and Vietnam. Opening the event, Andrei Bugrov, the Chairman of the Minsk City Council of Deputies, noted the role of Minsk in the economic life of the country.
“Minsk is a city that forms the main industrial potential of the country. This is a city of great opportunities. We are always glad to our guests. I am pleased that we can discuss the development of the city, as well as partnerships with different countries. We have preserved colossal competencies. Moreover, the quality of our goods is what sets us apart. The main value of our city and our country is people,” he underlined.
The forum programme is rich. Representatives of leading ministries and large Belarusian enterprises will speak at the plenary meeting. Contracts are also expected to be signed.
“This is the first business platform of its kind. We see great interest from the business side, and we plan to develop it. This is a platform for discussing sensitive issues and initiatives. Minsk is a powerful production base, boasting qualified personnel. It is a place of attraction for new ideas and breakthrough initiatives. The headliner of the forum is sanctions. But these are not only problems, but also a window of opportunity. And we need to make the most of them,” said Sergei Nabeshko, Director General of the Minsk branch of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
An exhibition of Minsk’s industrial sector is being held at the site near the National Library as part of the forum, involving more than 12 Belarusian state producers and private enterprises.
