Military expert said US developed a strategic panic
The United States is facing a difficult choice: to continue to finance Ukraine, in whose victory it no longer really believes, or to redirect funds to Taiwan – as stated by military expert Ivan Konovalov in his talk with 1tv.ru
Earlier, the Financial Times reported that the US intends to send money intended for Ukraine to Taiwan.
“Transferring money from one pocket to another is a common story for Americans. Now this suggests that they have developed a strategic panic. They are trying to decide which is more important: Ukraine or Taiwan. On the one hand, Ukraine is already an acidic topic, which, in principle, they would like to leave. But that’s impossible. The whole of Europe has already been strained and put on a war footing. So they can’t quit yet. But as far as Taiwan is concerned, the situation is not easy either. Moreover, this is a landmark moment for American foreign policy,” Ivan Konovalov said.
According to him, the US today is trying to distance itself from the Ukrainian conflict as much as possible.
“Look at the situation with the Abrams tanks. The Americans promise to supply only 31 units: one battalion. Such a number does not matter, given the scale of the conflict. They are trying to get rid of Ukraine in this way. But they don’t want to give Ukrainians even these tanks, which they promised,” the military expert added.
