Media: Vatican spoke of readiness to host Russia-Ukraine negotiations

The Vatican is ready to provide a place for peace talks between Russia and Ukraine – as announced by the Head of the Vatican Foreign Ministry, Archbishop Paul Richard Gallagher, Kommersant reports

According to the Vatican's official, the Holy See has previously expressed its readiness to mediate in the negotiation process, but has not received a response from the Russian and Ukrainian sides.

"If it was appropriate and necessary to offer and provide this place, as we have done in the past, the Pope would take it very positively – if the request came from both sides with good intentions and in the spirit of seeking peace, dialogue and ending the war," Archbishop Paul Richard Gallagher said, as quoted by ANSA.
