Lukashenko warns foreign businesses that attempt to abandon enterprises in Belarus

The President of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko, warned foreign businesses about the consequences of attempts to abandon their enterprises or sell them, BelTA reports

"It is necessary to build houses, and as far as I know, Russians are already doing something of the kind,” the Head of State said during his working trip to the Tolochin District, and the Vitebsk Region’s Governor, Aleksandr Subbotin, confirmed his words. “Lithuanians also wished to come to us with this project," he added.

The President reacted bluntly and unequivocally, “I don't want to see your Lithuanians, Finns and others here anymore! We know how they came in and how they abandoned everything and went away. We know that. And now – I do not want to name the company – I am receiving signals that some, the Finns, have fled. Meanwhile, the Lithuanians are running around, looking for how not to abandon their company but to sell it at a good price. They should know: no one will sell anything with foreign capital. It will be nationalised. That's it!"
