Lukashenko voiced Belarus’ proposals on most pressing issues at World Climate Action Summit in Baku
President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko voiced Belarus’ proposals on the most pressing issues during his speech at the World Climate Action Summit in Baku
The Head of State formulated several proposals from Belarus on the most pressing issues.
First
“The climate has changed, and this is a given. So, the primary task is to reconfigure national economies, primarily agriculture, taking into account the changed conditions,” Aleksandr Lukashenko emphasised.
Belarus is actively dealing with this problem, and we are ready to share our competencies in this area.
Second
“It is necessary to help developing countries get equal access to green technologies without prejudice to their national interests,” the Belarusian leader noted.
According to him, everything that hinders international trade in technology, sharing of innovations and best practices, including in climate change mitigation, should be abolished.
Third
“Today we are already faced with a situation when new products, positioned as a more environmentally friendly alternative, cause no less harm. New approaches to the comprehensive assessment of the potential environmental impact of innovations throughout the entire life cycle of products are objectively needed,” Aleksandr Lukashenko is convinced.
These and other areas require consolidation of international efforts, the President emphasised, “It’s time to move from words to action. And whoever has to pay should pay, not sit in their offices.”
