Lukashenko talked with BRSM construction teams: we should develop what people need
President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko advised the Belarusian Republican Youth Union (BRSM) to develop areas that people need. The Head of State made the statement today as he met with BRSM activists, members of the construction team who took part in the reconstruction of the Traktor Stadium.
Eleven combined student construction teams, about 200 young people, participated in the reconstruction of the stadium which lasted for two years. The President noted that the experience of working in a construction team lasts a lifetime. Aleksandr Lukashenko himself was a member of the construction student brigade at one time, and he has only the most positive memories of this, although the work was not easy.
“This is a completely different student if he has been in a construction team. Completely different. You have a construction team movement — this is your strong hold. It’s undeniable. And this is how you should pull up those areas that you can master and that people need,” the President emphasised.
The Belarusian leader also mentioned the BRSM charity and volunteer movement, assistance to the elderly, “These are good endeavours. And so it is necessary to take on these areas and develop what people need. This is the basis.”
The students invited the Head of State to the all-Belarusian meeting of construction teams, scheduled for December this year.
“If it works out, I will be happy to visit your family,” Aleksandr Lukashenko replied.
