Lukashenko stresses the need for greater integration within CSTO
Close integration in the post-Soviet space is the key to lasting peace and the basis of our unity in the international arena – as stated today by the President of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko, at a meeting with the CSTO foreign ministers. The Head of State recalled that in May 2023, a meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council in Moscow discussed the issues of conjugation of integration processes, the creation of alternative payment systems, and the development of transport infrastructure.

“The decision to launch a joint financing mechanism for projects in the area of industrial co-operation within the framework of the Eurasian Economic Commission is an important step in strengthening the economic and commercial industrial sovereignty of our countries,” Aleksandr Lukashenko stressed.
The President also drew attention to the fact that in the CIS we have the widest range of interaction: from humanitarian issues to inter-regional and border co-operation, as well as inter-parliamentary relations.
“In turn, the CSTO – as a guarantor of ensuring the stability and security of our countries and the Eurasian region as a whole – shouldn’t lag behind,” Aleksandr Lukashenko is convinced. “Our close ties in the political, military, economic, social and other spheres are the guarantee of a lasting peace between us and the basis of our unity in the international arena. Today it is difficult to say what the world order will be like. However, it’s obvious that only those who remain united will be able to pass this difficult stage with the least shocks. That’s why we are talking more and more about the need for greater integration within our organisation.”
