Lukashenko: Slavianski Bazaar has long gone beyond geographical boundaries of Slavic brotherhood
The opening of the Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk is always a time of triumph for cultural figures whose work unites countries and peoples – as stated by President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko during the opening ceremony of the 33rd Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk International Festival of Arts
Addressing the residents and guests of Vitebsk, the Head of State stressed, “The Slavic soul is boundless in its openness to the world. That’s why, our festival has long gone beyond the geographical boundaries of the Slavic brotherhood. You will feel it today. The current forum brought together like-minded people from more than forty countries: from Russia to India, from China to Colombia. Today, for the first time, we welcome the culture ministers and creative teams from the member states of the Shanghai Co-operation Organisation — now our organisation. This is a landmark event in the life of Belarus. We have joined the community of states to which the future belongs: the future of human development based on the principles of equality, respect and creativity. At least, such a spirit prevails in the SCO today.”
Aleksandr Lukashenko drew attention to the fact that the Day of SCO National Cultures will be held at the festival tomorrow, “Let it be a symbolic beginning of our joint journey towards common goals: the goals that have united more than half of the global population — people who understand the philosophy of our festival. This philosophy contains the key to peace and mutual understanding that people of art, talented people, give us.”
