Lukashenko sent condolences over death of India’s ex-PM Manmohan Singh
President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko has sent condolences to President of India Droupadi Murmu over the death of former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, sb.by reports with reference to the Belarusian leader’s press service
"Belarus has learnt of the death of India’s ex-PM Dr. Manmohan Singh, an outstanding Indian statesman and economist, with deep sadness. He has forever entered the history of India as a wise and completely devoted leader of his country. His tireless work ensured the growth of the welfare and international prestige of the state," the message of condolences reads.
Aleksandr Lukashenko noted that, in 2007, during Manmohan Singh's tenure as Prime Minister, he had a personal warm meeting with the Indian politician, and the main documents of the Belarusian-Indian relations in sci-tech co-operation and international security were signed.
"On behalf of the Belarusian people and myself, I express my sincere condolences and words of support to the family and friends of Dr. Manmohan Singh, as well as to all citizens of India in connection with this grave loss," the Head of State stressed.
