Lukashenko’s international meetings on the sidelines of CICA summit in Astana
The President of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko, has held a series of meetings with foreign leaders on the sidelines of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA), BelTA reports
In an official setting, bilateral meetings were held with the host of the summit, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of Türkiye Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Prime Minister of Pakistan Shehbaz Sharif.
The Belarusian Head of State also had a conversation with Chinese Vice President Wang Qishan. Alongside other issues, the two sides discussed a future meeting with the leader of the PRC.
Later it became known about a number of international contacts.
Thus, the Belarusian leader and Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, talked about control and revision of joint projects. Aleksandr Lukashenko invited him to pay a visit to Belarus.
Moreover, Aleksandr Lukashenko briefly discussed with President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov the situation in the region and economic ties between the two countries.
Brief conversations on topical issues were also held with President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and Uzbekistan President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
The Deputy Director General, Head of the Eurasia and the Western Balkans Division at the Israeli Foreign Ministry also spoke with the President of Belarus about the relations with Israel. Simona Halperin herself is from St. Petersburg, she knows Belarus well, and has now met the Belarusian Head of State personally.
