Lukashenko revealed origins of our present-day people’s democracy
Today, President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko has taken part in the Dazhynki-2024 regional festival-fair in Polotsk. Addressing the residents and guests of the ancient city, the Head of State noted that a large and generous harvest festival had come again to glorious Polotsk – the sovereign treasury of the Belarusian land.
“Every Belarusian should visit our beautiful museum city, where every stone breathes history, at least once in life. One thousand two hundred years ago, our nation began its hard and difficult path to its own statehood. Already in the 12th century, Polotsk was a developed metropolis of Eastern Europe. Today, the West is condescendingly trying to teach us democracy, especially Americans, who are only about 250 years old as a country, a state. We are backed by the wisdom of centuries, deep traditions of state governance, enshrined in ancient sources of law. There are the origins of our present-day people’s democracy,” Aleksandr Lukashenko stressed.
According to the President, it is from the experience of our ancestors that we proceed step by step, evolutionarily developing, improving and strengthening the Belarusian state.
