Lukashenko reported by Justice Minister

The President of Belarus was reported today by Justice Minister Sergei Khomenko, who was appointed to this position last October. However, as the Head of State noted, taking into account the enormous workload on ministers and civil servants, this service term can be viewed as more than a year.

“This is more than military service. That is why I say that you have been already serving not for six months, but much longer. We’ve agreed that you will take a fresh look at the Ministry of Justice, and as a person who may not be so close to rule-making and especially the control and organisation of the rule-making process, will think how to improve the work of the Justice Ministry.”

Aleksandr Lukashenko asked Sergei Khomenko about the current situation and the executive discipline in the ministry, “How do people work? Personnel management has always been the number one issue and will continue to be so. What is your point of view on this issue?”

During the meeting, the topics of adjusting the legal framework for the sake of the development of the new Constitution were also touched upon, alongside the problems in the work of attorneyship and legal executives, the issues of party building and public associations.
