Lukashenko reminded Minsk Mayor of what he owes to President
After opening and visiting the international standard swimming pool in Minsk, President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko reminded Chairman of the Minsk City Executive Committee Vladimir Kukharev about the task set with focus on architectural development of the capital, BelTA reports
"You owe me. You promised me to divide Minsk into pieces – let’s say so – and the architects would then tell me how to polish them. Something has been built here, and actually a whole residential district has been landscaped. We need to look at the main places, especially in the city centre. I have always kept these squares in mind: without overbuilding them, we need to see what can be added there. Our architects should share their weighty say on the point,” the Belarusian leader said.
"We are focusing not only on the centre: we are also working in suburbs,” Mr. Kukharev noted.
"That's what I'm saying: divide it into pieces – even not into districts, but smaller. We shall have a look then,” the Head of State specified.
"We are working with residential districts,” the Minsk Mayor agreed.
"We have proceeded from practice here, and everything is in order now,” Aleksandr Lukashenko noted, speaking about the territory near the swimming pool. At the same time, he drew attention to the landscaping of slopes, in particular along the railway, near interchanges. Shrubs need to be planted there, and the Minsk Mayor assured that work is underway and much has already been done.
