Lukashenko personally controls restoration works to eliminate consequences of natural disaster
President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko personally monitors the progress of restoration works aiming to eliminate the consequences of the natural disaster, which affected a number of the country’s regions, BelTA reports

All necessary measures were carried out yesterday and today (until morning) at the most intensive pace under the control of the Head of State. All this time, Deputy Prime Minister Anatoly Sivak, as well as chairs of the Mogilev, Minsk and Gomel regional executive committees reported on the situation in detail directly to the President. Special attention was paid to the situation in the Gomel Region, which was most affected by the natural disaster.
The President gave the necessary instructions for the prompt elimination of the consequences of bad weather to the heads of a range of ministries and departments, as well as First Deputy Prime Minister Nikolai Snopkov and Deputy Prime Ministers Anatoly Sivak and Piotr Parkhomchik. They were in constant contact with the Head of State, reporting on the progress of works at the local level and the execution of orders.
Anatoly Sivak was instructed by the Head of State to ensure the dismantling of the rubble by the morning of July 16th, restore the work of the entire infrastructure and life support systems for the population and promptly report on the situation in the morning of July 16th.
As instructed, over the past twenty-hour hours, teams of power engineers, forestry specialists and other industries have been maximally mobilised and fully engaged, and as of this morning, Deputy PM Anatoly Sivak reported to the President on the completion of the main works. The task has been completed to restart (the Mozyr thermal power plant) and high-voltage lines supplying the districts. Work is currently underway to connect industrial and residential facilities.
Aleksandr Lukashenko also decided to transfer the entire damaged forest to the heads of regional executive committees.
The President stressed the heroic work of those who eliminated the consequences of the natural disaster, including power engineers and forestry specialists, and asked to convey gratitude to all those who took part in the hardest work to eliminate the consequences of bad weather.
