Lukashenko outlined mutual interests with Yakutia: investment projects, service centres, diamonds, food

The spheres of mutual interests of Belarus and Yakutia are dictated by Western sanctions – as stated by President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko during his today’s meeting with the Head of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) of the Russian Federation, Aisen Nikolayev

The Head of State noted that the spheres of mutual interests of the parties can vary, “They are also dictated now by certain pressure on our both parties: I mean the Western fascist sanctions. As I usually tell Russian governors: buy Belarusian products if something is banned. We are probably able to significantly replace Western goods for you.”

The Belarusian leader stated that the Russian region needs to replace imported equipment for its mining enterprises, “We produce it. Large-scale investment projects in this sphere make it possible to increase supplies several times. The famous BELAZ mining dump trucks will help Yakutia exceed all its mining-related plans.”

Belarusian heavy trucks have proven themselves well in various regions of Russia. Aleksandr Lukashenko added that the republic produces mining equipment as well, “The Niva Holding company – located in Soligorsk, which is the birthplace of Belarusian potassium – is not just an excellent alternative to Western manufacturers. We take into account the specifics of the work and the requirements of any buyer. Therefore, we work comprehensively.”

The President stressed that Belarus will be able to establish a multi-brand service centre in Yakutia if the partners demonstrate the will and readiness to use Belarusian machines and equipment. “Your region is actively developing. Processing plants and underground mines are being built, and mineral deposits are being developed. Therefore, workers are needed. When coming to work, people want to live in comfortable conditions. You are right when building new modern residential districts in Yakutsk and Neryungri. We do the same when developing our large-scale production facilities. We have excellent builders, and our urban infrastructure standards are high,” the Head of State said.

Belarusian design and construction organisations are ready to work with Yakutia. “I know that the business programme of your visit includes a trip to Gomel’s Kritsall Production Association. It is a unique enterprise that cuts diamonds of various sizes. We have started co-operating more intensively with your enterprises, and I am sure that – after your visit – this activity will intensify,” Aleksandr Lukashenko noted.

The organisation of direct supplies of Belarusian food products using container shipment may become a promising sphere of co-operation. Belarus is ready to quickly increase sales.
