Lukashenko on where Belarus' first steps in TikTok started from
At a meeting with Mohamed Hassan Alsuwaidi, the UAE Minister of Investment, Managing Director at ADQ Investment Fund, President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko noted the long-term co-operation and exchange of experience with the Emirati side in the field of IT, including in the field of social networks, BelTA reports
"This is where our Belarusian first steps began in certain social networks, primarily TikTok. I remember when your specialists (and Chinese ones) invited me to a presentation, where they told me a lot about the development of the high-tech sector and asked me to contribute to the development of TikTok in Belarus," the Head of State noted.
Recalling his past visits to the Emirates, meetings and presentations on the development of the high-tech sector, Aleksandr Lukashenko said that Belarus' successes in the field of IT technologies partly began in the UAE, "I remember the meeting when your and Chinese specialists plunged me into this field very seriously, and we began to think about creating an IT park in Belarus."
A presentation on the prospects of artificial intelligence was once held here for the Belarusian leader. "It was about the goddamn artificial intelligence that would soon take over the whole world. I personally had little confidence in that, but it turned out that your experts were right," Aleksandr Lukashenko noted.
