Lukashenko on talks with representatives of Western countries
China – a technologically powerful country – cannot be stopped, especially now, and the West’s arms supplies to Ukraine may have unpredictable results – as stated by Belarus’ President Aleksandr Lukashenko in an interview with BBC journalist Steve Rosenberg that took place today on the side-lines of the BRICS Summit in Kazan
The Head of State did not tell the journalist with whom exactly he talked ‘because we have agreed with these people that these are closed, confidential talks’.
However, he explained, “These are very intelligent and well-informed people, and they asked me to talk to them. What were the talks focused on? That’s what you’re talking about. There four-hour-long negotiations tackled many issues, including the conflict in the Middle East. And I warned them to be careful with long-range missiles. This is the issue raised by Zelenskyy, who asks to give him missiles to hit the Kremlin and further up to Kazan. I told them to be careful because Putin could be approached by the Houthis, for instance, who could come to Putin and ask him to give them coastal defence missile systems able to deliver a terrible blow to ships. What if, in retaliation for you supplying Zelenskyy with weapons, he supplies them with Bastion systems? And what if even one aircraft carrier – whether British or American – will be hit? They say it’s unacceptable to them. Well, it’s unacceptable for Putin if you supply long-range missiles. That is, before taking any step, it is necessary to understand what will happen afterwards.”
Aleksandr Lukashenko also said that the topic of the People’s Republic of China had been discussed, “I warned them as an experienced politician, pardon my immodesty: if only you achieve full unification of China with Russia, no AUKUS (this NATO alliance in the Pacific), no alliance of America, India, Australia and Japan will be able to defeat Russia and China together. I told them that they are 15-20 years late to be able to stop China. In general, China – a technologically powerful country – cannot be stopped, especially now. We also talked about the domestic political situation in Russia and here. We tackled the situation in the West. We discussed many issues, they were interested in my point of view, and I expressed it.”
