Lukashenko instructed to spread the experience of building pedestrian underpass using the tunnel method throughout the country
During today’s visit of the President of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko, to the First [Pershy] National Trading Centre – opened on the site of the long-term construction project at the intersection of Nezavisimosti Avenue and Kirill Turovsky Street – Chairman of the Minsk City Executive Committee Vladimir Kukharev reported to the Head of State on the neighbourhood improvement, particularly, on the completion of the construction of a pedestrian underpass next to the shopping centre
“We were the first in the country to build without using an open method (we didn’t dig up the avenue). We did it using the tunnel method. Metrostroy enterprise made this tunnel. Now we have already developed technologies, and we can continue building without stopping traffic,” noted Vladimir Kukharev.
Aleksandr Lukashenko appreciated this approach, instructing to spread best practices throughout the country.
For the needs of local residents, children’s and sports grounds were also located near the shopping centre.
