Lukashenko instructed National Academy of Sciences to organise exhibition of scientists' achievements
The President of Belarus has been reported today by the Chairman of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences, Vladimir Gusakov
Before the conversation started, Aleksandr Lukashenko gave a specific instruction, “In order not to present this as a report, I would ask you to, maybe in late November or early December – when there will be more free time, decide upon and held an exhibition of achievements of the National Academy’s scientists. We know how to do it. You have organised this more than once. We will find a food venue – not only for you to be able to report on your successes, but also to demonstrate what we can do and that our science can do a lot to many people.”
Aleksandr Lukashenko noted with regret that we do not promote enough not only the Academy of Sciences, but also the achievements of Belarusian science. “Therefore, we need to think together with the Administration and the Government of where we can show people what we can do. And there is something to show,” he said.
The President proposed an exhibition complex on Pobediteley Avenue in Minsk as an alternative venue for such an exposition, “It has enough room. [We can] compactly take there the main achievements of our academic science, and even applied science as well. Our students have also learned to do something, and these can be demonstrated there. Think about how best to do it.”
The Head of State also asked about the progress in realising the President's instructions. “For example, in agriculture. We once talked about a new breed of cattle, new plants, and so on. We spoke about electric cars and, what is very important (we will talk about this on Friday), about our drones. How you compete here with applied science and with enterprises by creating new unmanned aerial vehicles. They are very relevant, based on the lessons of the war in Ukraine,” Aleksandr Lukashenko added.
