Lukashenko: harvesting campaign is so far middling

During his working trip to the Postavy District, the Head of State was reported on how the harvesting campaign is progressing there, and what crops are cultivated in the area. Aleksandr Lukashenko asked about the prospects of growing winter barley and rapeseed in local fields, also reminding of the discipline and additional mobilisation.

“It is so far middling. We need to increase the pace – to start an hour earlier and to finish an hour later. We definitely need to increase the pace,” Aleksandr Lukashenko concluded after being reported by the Agriculture and Food Minister, Igor Brylo.

According to the President, rapeseed harvesting should be completed in the near future, and mass harvesting – by the end of August. The Head of State also reminded about the need to send more harvesting machinery where it is necessary.

Aleksandr Lukashenko also spoke about the need for discipline and additional mobilisation. “Iron discipline is a must! I am telling you this publicly. [Use] police and army to make everyone work! A war is worse than iron discipline. A war starts when we let the guards down and stop working,” the Head of State addressed the Chairman of the Postavy District Executive Committee, Sergei Chepik. “So let's wake up and make it work.”

Aleksandr Lukashenko visited the Volokhi dairy complex of Khotily-Agro JSC. The facility was recently renovated, and it was put into operation in December 2020. Internal resources were mostly used, and – owing to a competent and economical approach – funds were saved, and the company now shows financial viability and provides high yields.

“This is a good complex. It is good that you have built it in this way," the President appreciated the results, addressing the head of the farm, Vyacheslav Krishtafovich.
