Lukashenko expressed condolences over death of Mikhail Gorbachev
The President of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko, has expressed condolences to the family and friends of Mikhail Gorbachev – as reported by BelTA with reference to the Belarusian leader’s press service
“It was with deep regret that I received the news of the death of Mikhail Sergeyevich Gorbachev, whose life was closely connected with the fate of our common Motherland. Mikhail Sergeyevich made a great personal contribution to the easing of international tension and global nuclear disarmament at the end of the 20th century. He sincerely believed in the possibility of reorganising society on the principles publicity, democracy and openness,” the message of condolences reads.
On behalf of the Belarusian people and himself, the President of Belarus expressed sincere condolences over the irreparable loss to Mikhail Gorbachev’s family and friends.
