Media: doctors in Polish hospitals quitting due to lack of funding
Polish media reported that hospitals in Poland are forced to reduce routine procedures, with some of them even postponed to next year, due to the dismissal of doctors as a result of lack of funding, TASS reports
It is noted that after a long delay the Polish Finance Ministry approved payments to hospitals for ‘overwork’ — procedures that are performed beyond limits. However, according to media reports, the allocated amount will not be enough to finance all hospitals.
The head physician of one of the hospitals reported that the situation is ‘catastrophic’. According to him, doctors are forced to cancel 6,000 procedures.
