Lukashenko congratulated Zhang Ming on 22nd anniversary of SCO
The President of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko, on behalf of the Belarusian people and himself, congratulated Secretary General of the Shanghai Co-operation Organisation (SCO) Zhang Ming on the 22nd anniversary of the founding of the SCO – as reported by the Belarusian leader’s press service
“During this time, the SCO has turned into a powerful multi-profile structure, taking a worthy place in the hierarchy of international organisations and becoming a centre of attraction for many states of Eurasia. The importance of the organisation in modern conditions is only increasing,” the congratulatory message says.
The Belarusian Head of State thanked the SCO Secretary General for his invariably attentive and constructive attitude towards interaction with Belarus, as well as for the work already done and ongoing on our country’s entry into the SCO as a full member.
“The Republic of Belarus is committed to the principles of the ‘Shanghai spirit’ and, I hope, in the very near future it will join all legal documents and actively join all formats of the functioning of the SCO in the new status,” the President noted.
Aleksandr Lukashenko wished Zhang Ming strong health, prosperity and great success in the SCO activities aiming to maintain peace, security and sustainable development of its members.
