Lukashenko congratulated State Security Committee personnel on professional holiday
The President of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko, has congratulated the staff of the State Security Committee of the Republic of Belarus (KGB) on their professional holiday – State Security Officers Day – as reported in the Belarusian leader’s press service
“On this day we proudly recall the glorious history of the department, written by true patriots, whose names have become legends. Their devotion to the Fatherland, unprecedented courage and valour – embodied in heroic deeds for the sake of peace and life in their native land – became the main guideline for each new generation of security officers,” the congratulatory message reads.
“KGB officers, who are people of special skills even today, invariably demonstrate the highest professionalism, exceptional reliability, maximum composure and concentration of forces, and most importantly, responsibility for the fate of citizens and the country in the most difficult and sometimes extreme situations,” the Belarusian leader stated.
“Based on the invaluable experience of your predecessors and the traditions of the national intelligence service, you are also at the forefront of countering the unprecedented challenges of the global world, stopping attempts at outside interference and protecting state priorities and values,” the President added.
Aleksandr Lukashenko thanked KGB officers for their determination, initiative, and flawless fulfilment of the assigned tasks to protect the ancestral right of Belarusian citizens to live in peace and harmony, to create and to look confidently into the future.
The Head of State also expressed gratitude to the state security agencies’ retired employees, “You are setting a worthy example of fidelity to duty and vocation, perseverance and fortitude to the younger generation, sharing your unique and truly heroic heritage, which is especially in demand today.”
The President wished the KGB team strong health, prosperity and new successes in their difficult service for the benefit of their native Belarus.
