Lukashenko congratulated staff of Great Patriotic War History Museum on 80th anniversary of its foundation

President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko has congratulated the staff of the Great Patriotic War History Museum on the 80th anniversary of its foundation, sb.by reports with reference to the Belarusian leader’s press service

The Head of State noted, “The museum is a pride of Belarus. Having begun its history immediately after the liberation of the republic from the Nazi invaders, it became a symbol of the struggle, courage and dedication of the Belarusian people, their defiance of the enemy."

"The unique expositions of the halls, various projects and programmes of the museum reverently preserve the memory of the immortal feat of the Red Army, partisans and underground workers, all those who brought the Great Victory closer," the congratulatory message reads.

Aleksandr Lukashenko stressed, “The institution is honourably resisting the falsification of the historical truth about WWII today, reminding humanity of those tragic events, educating the younger generation on the ideas of equality, humanity and peaceful coexistence of peoples."

The President expressed confidence that enthusiasm and dedication to the work will continue to awaken kindness and love for the Motherland in the hearts of visitors.

The Head of State wished everyone good health, happiness and good mood.
