Lukashenko congratulated residents and President of India on Independence Day

On behalf of Belarusian citizens and himself, President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko has congratulated India’s President Draupadi Murmu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and residents of this country on the national holiday: Independence Day, sb.by reports with reference to the Belarusian leader’s press service

"Thanks to the independent course of the Indian Government, its exceptional focus on the interests of the people and a responsible approach in foreign policy, India rightfully enjoys well-deserved authority in the global arena, and it also plays an important role in solving topical issues on the international agenda," the President’s congratulation to Draupadi Murmu reads.

The Head of State stressed that Belarus highly appreciates the activities of the Indian leadership in implementing large-scale socio-economic transformations, ensuring stability and harmony in the country.

Aleksandr Lukashenko drew attention to the fact that Minsk always strives to deepen dialogue with New Delhi and expects to bring relations to a qualitatively new level in the political, trade and economic spheres through active joint efforts. "I will be glad to discuss possible steps in this direction during our personal meeting," the President of Belarus noted in his message to the President of India. The Head of State also thanked Draupadi Murmu for his principled support for Belarus' accession as a full member to the Shanghai Co-operation Organisation.

In his message of congratulations to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Aleksandr Lukashenko stated that Belarus values the good friendly relations that have developed between the countries and allow them to find mutual interest in a variety of industries.

"I am convinced that, thanks to the effective implementation of the roadmap for the development of key areas of co-operation, we will be able to bring our partnership to a qualitatively new level," the Belarusian leader stressed.
