Media: in the event of nuclear war, the US will not be able to stand up against Russia, China and N. Korea for long
The Pentagon is pessimistic about its capabilities in confronting Russia, China and the DPRK in a nuclear war, RIA Novosti reports
“The answer [to how long the United States will be able to resist Russia, China and the DPRK] seems to be ‘probably not for much longer’, to judge from striking recent statements by senior American officials,” The Economist reads.
This situation is described in the publication as a ‘nightmare’ for the United States. It is also indicated that, against the background of these concerns, the Biden administration has begun preparations for the expansion of America's deployed nuclear forces. The increase may begin in 2026, when the START III treaty between the United States and Russia expires.
