President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko has congratulated the personnel and veterans of the transport troops of the Republic of Belarus on their professional holiday: Railway Troops Day, sb.by reports with reference to the Belarusian leader’s press service

"Belarus is celebrating Railway Troops Day. The combat path of these troops is closely linked to the heroic history of our country," the Head of State stressed. “During the Great Patriotic War, railway soldiers especially distinguished themselves during Operation Bagration, ensuring the large-scale redeployment of troops and equipment, as well as the delivery of thousands of tonnes of cargo – thus making a great contribution to the liberation of Belarus from Nazi invaders, the 80th anniversary of which we have celebrated this year."

Aleksandr Lukashenko stressed, “The glorious traditions of the victorious generation are preserved and multiplied by the personnel of the transport troops today. You are successfully solving all the tasks set to strengthen the military security of the state, improve the military logistics system and develop the country's transport infrastructure. At the same time, high professionalism, responsibility and loyalty to military duty remain unchanged. Let it continue to be so."

The President thanked everyone for their hard work and wished them good health, peace, happiness, prosperity and new successes for the benefit of their native Belarus.
