“By now, 80 percent of the grain have been harvested: 1 million 408 thousand tonnes, and this volume does not include rapeseed. In addition, 315 thousand tonnes of rapeseed have been threshed. Accordingly, 1.7 million tonnes have been harvested by now. Taking rapeseed into account, I think the figure will stand at 2 million 100 thousand tonnes (without corn). The situation with corn is also fine so far, I think we will harvest 600 thousand tonnes of it this year,” the Chairman of the Minsk Regional Executive Committee told the Head of State.

Mr. Turchin added that the Minsk Region is even ready to lend a shoulder to someone in the matter of grain delivery at the expense of the state order. The state order for malting barley is also being successfully fulfilled, which, along with rapeseed, produces excellent financial results for farms.

The President also asked about the progress of construction and reconstruction of livestock complexes, and Mr. Turchin replied, “Three more years are needed, it is just unrealistic to complete this work earlier.”

“Let’s hope three years will be enough,” the Head of State said.

Aleksandr Lukashenko stressed that discipline and order are important in all spheres, and there are still quite many farms in the Minsk Region that need to be revamped to a certain level. “So far, the situation differs in the Minsk Region. There are good farms here, and it is a true pleasure to look at them,” he noted.

During the working trip, the elimination of the consequences of the natural disaster in the Minsk Region was also discussed. The area suffered less in this regard than the Gomel Region. Mr. Turchin assured that, in general, order has already been restored, everything is being done on time, and assistance has been provided promptly to people whose roofs were damaged by the wind.
