Lukashenko congratulated Patriarch Kirill on his birthday
On November 20th, The President of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko, has extended birthday greetings to Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Kirill – as reported in the Belarusian leader’s press service
“Your Archpastoral devotion to the Russian Orthodox Church fell on a difficult time for the entire planet, when the main universal values acquired special significance: the readiness to fight for a just cause, to defend the Motherland, the faith of fathers and the future of children,” the congratulatory message reads.
The Head of State underlined that against this background, the high authority, wise words and prayerful help of the Patriarch are an unshakable moral guideline for all Orthodox believers, strengthening the thousand-year-old traditions of Christianity in their hearts.
The President expressed gratitude to Patriarch Kirill for the tireless work that gives peoples the strength to support each other, maintaining spiritual and cultural unity, and also wished good health and inexhaustible energy in serving for the benefit of the Church and the entire Orthodox world.
