Lukashenko: Belarus, Laos confidently building bilateral partnership dialogue

President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko has congratulated Laos President Thongloun Sisoulith and the people of this country on the Day of the Proclamation of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic, sb.by reports with reference to the Belarusian leader’s press service

The Head of State pointed out that Belarus and Laos have a long history of interaction based on respect, trust, and readiness to help each other.

This year marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries. “Our friendship is certainly time-tested,” the congratulatory message reads. “We are confidently building a bilateral partnership dialogue. Both states have similar approaches on fundamental issues of the global and regional agendas, including the peaceful resolution of any conflicts based on the basis of international law.”

Aleksandr Lukashenko noted that he had the warmest impressions of the meeting with the Laos President in Kazan at the BRICS summit. “It is pleasant to note that Minsk and Vientiane are keen to further develop mutually beneficial co-operation and practical realisation of the significant economic potential of the Belarusian-Laos relations,” the President added.

The Head of State reiterated his invitation to the President of Laos to visit the hospitable Belarus at any convenient time to discuss in detail all matters of mutual interest for the two countries.

Aleksandr Lukashenko wished Thongloun Sisoulith strong health, happiness and success in his responsible state activity, and the people of Laos – harmony and progress.
