President’s hockey team got second win in Republican Hockey League matches
The hockey team of the President of Belarus has won its second victory in the new season of the Republican Hockey League (RHL), BelTA reports
On November 30th, the Head of State’s squad beat the Gomel Region team – 5:2 (4:0, 0:1, 1:1) – at the Ice Palace in Zhlobin.
The meeting started with the guests’ attack and in the 6th minute Artyom Antonenko hit the goal. Three minutes later, Andrei Mikhalev scored the second goal, then Pavel Volchek scored, afterwards Artyom Antonenko completed his goal double. After the break, the hosts started to play more actively and Ruslan Andreichikov managed to narrow the gap in the score. In the third period, the teams exchanged goals. First, Pavel Volchek scored his second goal, and then Dmitry Gerasimchuk set the final result of the match – 5:2 in favour of the guests.
Goalkeepers Igor Brikun (the President’s team) and Vladislav Tochilkin (Gomel Region) were recognised as the best players of the match. In the opening match of the new season, the Head of State’s team defeated their rivals from the Grodno Region – 10:3.
In the final series of the last amateur tournament, the President’s ice squad beat the hockey players of the Minsk Region twice — 5:2 and 10:8 – thus becoming the winners of the competitions for the 15th time. The teams of the Gomel and Minsk regions have one title each.
The organisers of the amateur ice hockey tournament are the President’s Sports Club, the Sports and Tourism Ministry and the Minsk City Executive Committee.
