Lukashenko: Belarus keen on interaction with African Union

Belarus is very interested in co-operation with the African Union – as stated by the President of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko, during his talks with President of the Union of Comoros, Chairperson of the African Union, Azali Assoumani, on the sidelines of the World Climate Action Summit, BelTA reports

“I thank you for this meeting. As fate would have it, we had to ‘attack’ the summit together: one after the other. You know (I sent you a corresponding letter): we are extremely keen on interaction with the African Union,” Aleksandr Lukashenko underlined.

The President noted that Belarus has long been liaising with North African countries, e.g., Egypt. Relations with southern states, including Zimbabwe, are developing while collaboration with Equatorial Guinea is being built.

“We would be very happy if you contributed to such an advance of highly-technological Belarus to the African continent,” said the Belarusian leader. “If this is not contrary to your policy, I would ask for your support.”
