Lukashenko: Belarus has nothing to do with aggravation of dialogue with Kiev
The President of Belarus stated this as he met the well-known Ukrainian politician and statesman, Alexander Moroz
Welcoming the guest, Aleksandr Lukashenko thanked him for his loyalty to his principles and beliefs, “You remain a persistent person, committed to your ideas. I remember well our meetings and our conversations. Frankly speaking, there were many different people in politics at that time, but I hoped that you would not get lost. The range of opinions was wide. You also well remember this. I’m very pleased that we meet with you thanks to your courage and firmness, that you have not lost your convictions in the difficult situation which is developing around us: around Ukraine, Belarus.”
As far as the current Belarusian-Ukrainian co-operation is concerned, the Head of State stated, “I think there is no point in telling you about these relations. There is no point in analysing them in terms of who is right and who is wrong. Being an experienced and wise person, you understand everything perfectly well. You understand what’s going on. But once again I want to publicly tell you that we have nothing to do with the aggravation of our relations. We have been pursuing a clear, understandable policy for the Ukrainian people. I still adhere to this policy. We are native people. We are neighbours. It’s given to us by God. Therefore, our future should develop like that of the neighbours.”
