The President of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko, has arrived in Russia on a working visit, and his plane landed at Kazan International Airport, BelTA reports

Head of the Republic of Tatarstan of the Russian Federation Rustam Minnikhanov, First Deputy Prime Minister Rustam Nigmatullin and other officials welcomed Aleksandr Lukashenko at the airport.

At the invitation of Russian President Vladimir Putin, the Belarusian leader will attend the opening ceremony of the Games of the Future international high-tech tournament. On the occasion of this large-scale multisport event, a number of foreign leaders will arrive in the capital of the Republic of Tatarstan of the Russian Federation.

Vladimir Putin invited his CIS colleagues to attend the tournament during the CIS informal summit in St. Petersburg at the end of December 2023.

The Games of the Future international multisport tournament is a high-tech sports show, which consists of competitions in classic sports and their digital versions. In total, over 270 teams and more than 2,000 athletes from 107 countries will take part in twenty-one disciplines, which promote the phygital (physical + digital) concept, combining classical sports, esports and technology.

All competitions will be broadcast live, and – according to preliminary forecasts – the streaming audience will exceed 3bn people.

Belarusians will perform in several disciplines: phygital basketball and football, robot battle, drone race, virtual cycling race, and The World of Tanks.

In basketball, for example, they will face teams from Russia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Turkiye, China, Spain, Serbia, and Guatemala. In the robot battle, Belarusians will compete with players from Russia, India, Chile, the United Arab Emirates and Kazakhstan, and in the virtual cycling race – with athletes from Argentina, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Portugal, Italy, Russia, and the United Kingdom.
