The meeting participants will discuss the peaceful settlement of conflicts, the fight against terrorism, the climate related issues, the technology exchange and other burning topics of the global concern.

As Russian President Vladimir Putin said at the BRICS Summit the day before, the expanded format has proven itself well, since it provides an opportunity for direct and open dialogue between the BRICS members and ‘our sincere friends’.

BRICS Outreach is a regional format that envisages the involvement of the neighbours in the region of the state presiding over the association to the BRICS activity. This format was launched by the South African presidency in 2013.

BRICS+ is a more global format that makes it possible to involve other countries in the work. In 2017, China laid the foundation for the BRICS+ format, taking the initiative to form a circle of friends who would interact with BRICS on a regular basis.
