Lukashenko approved Belarus’ citizenship oath
On July 21st, the President of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko, signed Decree No. 222, which approved the text of the oath of a citizen of the Republic of Belarus and the procedure for taking it by persons who have become citizens of Belarus – as reported by the Belarusian leader’s press service
The document also establishes a list of persons exempted from taking the oath. At the same time, a procedure has been defined for submitting to the Head of State materials on the loss of citizenship for participation in extremist activities or causing serious harm to the interests of the Republic of Belarus by persons outside the country.
The decree was developed in order to implement the latest amendments to the Law On Citizenship of the Republic of Belarus.
