Lukashenko and his sons visited museum at Khatyn Memorial Complex
The President of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko, and his sons are visiting the museum built in the Khatyn Memorial Complex, BelTA reports
The Belarusian Head of State was demonstrated the exposition of the museum, describing not only the tragedy of Khatyn, but also showing through the connection of generations and eras what wars, hardships and troubles befell the ancestors of modern Belarusians, how they had to defend their native land and the right to live on it. The main focus is placed on the events of WWII and the Great Patriotic War.
The museum is filled with many exhibits and modern interactive technologies enabling to tell about the terrible events of the past years as realistically as possible. Behind every wall, every photograph in the museum are terrible crimes committed by the Nazis and their accomplices on Belarusian land.
The total number of burned and suffered villages in Belarus is 10,961. But, as the President was told, this is not the final figure either.
“It is really original and unique,” the Head of State noted after the tour.
He drew attention to the fact that earlier the events of the war years were sometimes told in a cinematic way but in the new museum, everything is as close to reality as possible. “Everything is simple and understandable. Exactly as it was then,” the Belarusian leader stressed.
He is sure that the exposition should impress visitors.
