Lavrov: Russia never refuses serious proposals to hold talks on Ukrainian issue
Moscow does not refuse serious proposals to hold talks on the settlement of the Ukrainian conflict – as stated by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov at a press conference following the G20 Ministerial Council, RIA Novosti reports
Speaking of the possibility to hold negotiations, Mr. Lavrov noted, “We have repeatedly said publicly that we never refuse serious proposals that are made out of a sincere desire to find a political solution."
At the same time, the Russian Foreign Minister stressed that he could not recall that the West proposed Kiev to negotiate. According to him, it follows from this that Ukraine is being set for further hostilities.
During the press conference, Mr. Lavrov also said that the meeting participants could not agree on the final document – due to disagreements on the Ukrainian issue.
