Kochanova, Matviyenko discussed development of Belarus-Russia relations as part of IPA CIS session in Bishkek

The Interparliamentary Assembly of the CIS member states has begun its work in Kyrgyzstan today, and the Chairperson of Belarus’ Council of the Republic, Natalya Kochanova, has met with the Chairperson of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of Russia, Valentina Matviyenko, as part of the event to discuss a range of issues dealing with the development of bilateral relations between Belarus and Russia, relations within the framework of the Union State and the Commonwealth of Independent States

“Parliamentary work is fundamental for us. I am grateful to both the Kyrgyz side and you, Valentina Ivanovna, for the invitation to take part in the events of the Interparliamentary Assembly of the CIS member states," Natalya Kochanova said.

“It is good that there is such an opportunity not only within the framework of bilateral visits, but also at the site of the IPA and other international platforms to see each other so that our parliamentary dialogue is never interrupted, so that we are in good shape, develop an agenda for the future,” Valentina Matviyenko noted. “We are always very constructive with you, and there is a focus on results.”
