Kochanova: enterprises that we have preserved are working efficiently

The policy pursued by our country’s President, when the competencies and production facilities should be preserved, has fully justified itself – as stated by Chairperson of the Council of the Republic Natalya Kochanova during a meeting of the Minsk City Executive Committee, which discussed the development strategy of the Motovelo Plant and the reconstruction of the enterprise’s territory

Aleksandr Lukashenko’s main requirement for Motovelo was the need to preserve the enterprise and competencies. To do this, he instructed to create conditions for maximum localisation and reach a level of at least 50 percent within five years, as well as to put the production area in order and place the Minsk City Technopark on the current territory of the Motovelo Plant within three years.

“The fulfilment of the Head of State’s instructions is mandatory and must be done without red tape, in a timely manner,” Natalya Kochanova addressed the meeting participants. “Listen carefully to the President, if he said ‘fifty’, then you need to do it. Because he doesn’t say anything for no serious reason.”

As an example, the Speaker of the Council of the Republic cited the Horizont Plant, which was also modernised by the Head of State’s decision though they did not see prospects before that. Natalya Kochanova added, “The President also came to Motovelo, and it turned out that a lot can be done: they established a technopark, where more than a hundred residents with their productions already want to get into.”
